Welcome to Jewelry by Day!

Today I spent some time with a wonderful artist, Roberta Lavadour, who is the Executive Director for our local Arts Center. She's amazing. We worked on this blog layout and talked about blogs in general and what makes them work. I've looked around the web at a few, and find what interests me the most are beautiful, inspiring pictures. The better ones give you a sense of peace and clarity and make you long for that perfect cappuccino sitting on a cafe table in Vienna....or to pet that hilarious Basset Hound giving you a "look".

Here at JBD I hope to, in turn, inspire you about jewelry. It's something that has been around since early man carved an animal's bone and put in on a leather strap around his neck. It will always be around too (said with the utmost confidence!). What a wonderful thing it is to wear beautiful art on your body to show the world your personal taste and style.

In my opinion trends are fine, but what matters is how you feel wearing a piece. Did it inspire you? Did it "grab" you and not let go? Does it speak to you of your unique style? There's a lot of personal joy when I see this happen to one of my customers. I find lots of beads "grabbing" me at shows and there my money goes!

Heading back to my humongous bead table now....
